Photography Is Our Specialty ~ Here's What Else We Do |
| |
Ric has over 20 years experience in the photography
industry. As far back as high school, he worked diligently
as his school's chief yearbook photographer. He decided
then to take his hobby and turn it into a life-long career,
beginning his formal photography education at Fanshawe
College in London, Ontario. Here he honed his craft and
gained new skills to enable him to succeed in the very
competitive photography market.
Ric graduated from the 3rd year Advanced Photography program
with excellent grades and began working at a
local advertising agency. By 1986, he was ready to move
on to the next phase of his life and so he opened his
own photography studio.
By 1989, Ric saw the advantages of upgrading his skills
in order to benefit from the latest advancements in computers
and digital imaging. His company,
Virtual Edge Communications, has had much success
in the area of website design, computer consulting and
digital photography. Ric also spends countless hours on
nature digital photography and has volunteered his time
as photographer / webmaster for Habitat
For Humanity London and SquirrelSanctuary.org
based in Long Island New York. Digital has
offered Ric a huge advantage in his business, allowing
him to view instantly the results of his work. No longer
having to rely upon a photographic lab for film processing
or keeping an inventory of film on hand, he has been able
to cut his costs and give quick turn-around time to his
customers. |

Sheila met Ric at Fanshawe College and was instantly
caught up in his enthusiasm for the photography profession.
She worked part-time in the camera department of a local
department store while she was still in school. After
graduation, she obtained full-time employment with a local
commercial photography studio as the lab manager.
Over the years, Sheila has upgraded her skills as well,
to include digital photography, digital image manipulation,
technical writing, and website design.
Sheila started her own business - DesignWrite.ca
(formerly Smart Office Services) - to provide a full range
of writing, editing, and design services for small to
medium-sized businesses. Specialties include: instructional
or training manuals, annual reports, websites, newsletters,
brochures, and press releases that get noticed by the
media. See WeddingWeb.ca,
which was mentioned in the London Free Press.
As a couple, Ric and Sheila have merged their talents
in order to provide one-stop shopping for their customers.
Ric and Sheila have recognized that digital technology
offers both the photographer and the customer numerous
benefits over traditional photography. |
